I am beginning to have second thoughts on John McCain.
Now, it is true that John McCain will be a left-leaning Republican president, so that is hardly an endorsement. On the other hand, if he becomes president he has to finally resign from the Senate, and we may get a real conservative in the senate for Arizona.
Just a passing fancy, but I am beginning to think the only way we will ever get rid of these RINOs is to appoint them to higher office.
Perhaps if McCain is elected he will appoint a number of RINOs to his cabinet and free up some seats for real conservative candidates.
So, while it is hardly my ideal circumstance to see McCain elected, it will help clear the senate of RINOs, so it won't be all bad. (And we survived 8 years of compassionate conservativism, we can survive 4 or 8 years of a "maverick republican" too. Still better than the alternative.)
