I was reading
Ann Coulter's most recent article and have to say, is any of this news? I mean, she did a fine job tearing apart Obama's "Dreams From my Father" (and was amusing doing it), but does it surprise anyone that Obama is really a standard Democrat race hustler?
Actually, let me be fair. It doesn't appear Obama is race hustler per se. I don't think Jackson or Sharpton really believe their messages, or, if they do, the money comes first, the message second. Obama really does seem to believe in his racial rhetoric. He really does think whites are out to get him, and he is placating us with soft, gentle words, as he did his mother, until he is in charge. So, I guess he isn't a "standard" race hustler, he is a true believer.
But, regardless of whether he is a believer or a cynic, does Ms. Coulter need his book to tell her this?
Let us list the evidence:
1. He spent 20 years listening to sermons by Reverend Wright
2. He called Reverend Wright his mentor
3. Rather than denounce Wright he sold out his own grandmother
4. He then turned a speech about Wright's racism into accusations of America as a racist nation
5. His married a woman who appears to be equally obsessed with race
Do we really need his book to tell us this man is obsessed with race? He picked a church that openly proclaims adherence to black liberation theology, with a minister cut from the same cloth. He responds to black racism by pointing to white racism and in the process denounces his white relatives who raised him. It is not hard to see the racial animosity.
The one interesting thing that came from Coulter's article (or Obama's book, if you prefer) is his fondness for a Malcolm X quote about removing his white blood. As Obama seems to be willing to reject the whites who raised him in order to defend his racist mentor, this quote is remarkably apropos.
So, I suppose Coulter did add something.
