Following my last post, I realized that the Democrats are suffering from a familiar malady. Like a person who stays in a bad marriage because they have already invested so much time, the Democrats pinned so many hopes on Obama that they are reluctant to let go.
Let me make this clear, Hillary is a lousy choice, I'll grant that, but Obama is a suicidal one. If he thought he was treated unfairly by a debate which offered up only a handful of tough questions, he is not going to make it to November. A man who requires only softball questions or else falls apart is not a man you want representing your party.
Yes, I understand that he had a lot of promise, but you have to face facts, he has so much baggage the public will never accept him. Not only that, but he is simply unable to defend himself. Look at how he falls back on charges of racism to explain away Wright, when any other politician would have wisely severed ties with Wright long before he even formed an exploratory committee.
And, to make it easier for you, there is always someone to blame. You don't need to blame yourselves for this thing falling apart, you can blame the press. Had they only done their job, you would have known all this about Obama long before you pinned so many hopes on him. They should have been bringing up all these questions long before bloggers did, so get angry at the press for letting you down, if that makes it easier for you.
It is hard, Democrats, but it is time. You need to cut Obama loose. As I said, I know Hillary is a bad choice, but we are stuck with McCain, so you may still have some slim chance. With Obama you have none.
