I have frequently said that those who argue that Obama is a stealth Moslem are wasting time, as there are many reasons to oppose him independent of his religion. I also think that arguing over those sort of questions often makes the proponent look paranoid to those who have heard only the MSM presentation, and thus weaken the many valid arguments raised by them. So, I have personally spent very little time looking into the many sites which claim to prove that Obama was at one time the member of a madrassa. It is possible he was, there are some who claim he studied Islam while in Indonesia. I know there are argument son both sides, and have followed them in a very cursory fashion.
But, regardless of the evidence, it really doesn't matter.
Now, some will wonder why I say that, as they believe that Obama is some sort of stealth Moslem sent to undermine our culture. And I agree with them a little. Not that he is a stealth Moslem, but that he belongs to a religious cult bent on destroying our culture.
It is called liberalism.
And that is why Obama's religion is a matter of indifference to me. Even if he studied Islam, I doubt he would be any more of a Moslem than he is a Christian. Liberals may pay lip service to religion, but in their hearts, liberalism is their one faith. They are too committed to the material, too critical of beliefs, too involved in moral relativism, to belong to any religion. They may publicly carry the fifty pound Bible to church every Sunday and may pretend to pray, but their heart isn't in it. Their faith is in the material, and their belief is in their own power to bring about a worldly utopia.
So, whether Obama studied Islam or not, even if he had once openly espoused Islam, it would make no difference. His faith, above all others, would still be in the materialist liberalism he has practiced for decades. So it matters very little whether his ostensible religion is Islam or Christianity or snake worship. He is just going through the motions, regardless of which motions he chooses.

As far as policy is concerned, an Islamic background would probably make little difference. Is there any more pro-Islamic politician than George Galloway in the UK? (Though some of that may be due to simple bribery.) And have Moslems had better friends, or Israel worse enemies, than the mostly Christian (or Jewish) liberals in the US congress? I don't see how adherence to Islam could produce any more undesirable results than these.
