Well, the first step was a mistake for McCain. Faced with Obama's plans to revive the WPA, instead he starts off with a plan to turn the US government into a mortgage lender. I know I have argued that a centrist position is the only option, but McCain is running a lot farther left than he needs to.
On the other hand, Obama is just reading his campaign brochure.
But why has McCain not asked where Obama is finding all this money? He wants to give everyone a tax cut and a pocketful of cash. Where is he getting all of this money? And why am I asking and not McCain?
UPDATE
Well, McCain is attacking a little, tiny bit on the question. Doesn't help that it is a retread. Then again, I suppose those who aren't political junkies may not have heard of plumber Joe before. But glad that he is bringing up how small businesses will be crushed by Obama's tax plan.
UPDATE II
Obama is responding with class envy. SOP for libs. Think Obama just lied though. He says people under $250K won't see their capital gains tax go up. I don't recall that in anything he has proposed so far. I thought capital gains got snatched regardless of your income. Have to check, but that may be a little lie. (As opposed to the big, overall "I love the middle class" lie.)
UPDATE III
McCain needs a bit more rehersal. "Spread the wealth around" line is a good one, but he is fumbling it. He is hititng a good point asking "Why would you want to raise anyone's taxes?" Thwarting the class envy argument, or at least highlighting it. Wish McCain were a bit rehearsed. Obama is trying to counter with "We can afford to tax Warren Buffet: and keeps mentioning Exxon, but he does sound a bit defensive, and repetititve.
