It appears that
FactCheck.org might have missed a little Obama "mistake" on his
"Fight the Smears" site. While FactCheck is busy citing ACORN spokesmen and the official story, the
Cleveland Leader did a little digging and found that
Obama HAD done work for ACORN, though the group has now carefully deleted all articles proving that from their site.
Nice catch there FactCheck! Yes, just take the word of interested parties, at least as long as they are on the left.
Strange how they never take the word of McCain or the Heritage foundation, but the word of ACORN is gospel. Why would that be, I wonder?

By the way, those quotes must not have been removed from the ACORN site that long ago,a s I recall various blogs printing them some time ago, before the ACORN story broke in the MSM. So my guess is they were taken down only when the press started realizing they could not completely ignore ACORN and instead had to try to downplay the story.
POSTSCRIPT II
I knew I had seen those quotes before. The quotes that the
Cleveland Leader dug up, such as Tony Foulkes saying "many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran
for office. Thus it was natural for many of us to be active volunteers
in his first campaign for State Senate and then his failed bid for U.S.
Congress in 1996. By the time he ran for U.S. Senate, we were old
friends", were the quotes in Stanley Kurtz'
May 29 NRO article. So I suppose either Kurtz has good archives, or the quotes were up until very recently.
