Above and Beyond

I awarded the FairTax.org people the St. Jude award a few days ago for their email asking Obama to support the FairTax, but I am now convinced this is going beyond futile into the delusional. I have received yet another email from FairTax.org, this time seeking contributions so that they can try to convince Obama to support the FairTax.

Either these people are running low of cash and have decided on a last ditch effort to pay the bills, or else they have entirely lost touch with reality. Is there anyone out there who thinks there is even the msot remote chanc eof tax reform being in the top 100 items on Obama's agenda? And even should it appear on his radar, does anyone think the FairTax will be his choice?

The man who said we need to spread the wealth around? The man who thinks it fair that those earning over $200,000 pay at a higher rate? He is going to be converted to a FairTax true believer?

Let's look at it this way, I am a federalist/former libertarian. I find the income tax a horrible idea and think that "progressive' taxation is offensive. yet even I have my doubts about the FairTax. Yet they think Obama is going to become a believer?

I am simply stunned at the futility of this effort.
