Since the Bush administration is soon coming to a close, I want to take one last moment to ask someone to explain something.
According to liberals, Bush is a moron, a man incapable of tying his own shoes, who simply cannot string two words together, who, despite his college grades exceeding both Gore and Kerry, is just this side of brain dead.
So, if Bush is such an idiot, how did he trick congress into declaring war on Iraq? How did he fool them into passing his tax cuts? How did he trick them all into continuing to fund his illegal war? And how did he manage to keep anyone from discovering evidence of any of these deceptions? And, for many out there, how did he manage to blow up both levees in New Orleans and the twin towers without anyone catching on?
Now, I know the story is that it isn't Bush behind these plots. He is a puppet of the evil genius Cheney, or maybe Rove. However, does that make sense to anyone? If you want to create a puppet, you don't pick a total moron, as he is likely to do something to give away the game. You would pick someone of moderate intelligence. Smart enough to keep the secret but dumb enough that he won't get any ideas of his own. So the cretin they describe would definitely not be the best front man.
Also, if Cheney or Rove is behind all of Bush's schemes, then why do some on the left blame the war on Bush's desire for revenge for Saddam's efforts to kill his father, or else a desire to complete the war and save his father's reputation? If that is true, then we have to think he is a moron, used by Rove or Cheney, who then rebels, decides to have a war to avenge his father, and then this moron suddenly figures out how to deceive congress, as well as cover up everything perfectly. That doesn't make a bit of sense.
But even if we ignore that, the whole puppet thing is fishy. The power behind the throne is almost always that, BEHIND THE THRONE. Cheney is far too public a figure. If you want to be a low key power broker, the vice presidency is not the place to do that. Rove's position is a better one, except for the fact that Rove has been so public a figure. Neither Rove nor Cheney has maintained the nondescript, unobtrusive facade one would expect from a puppet master. Making all of these allegations and suspicions totally ludicrous.
Actually, ignore my initial questions. Those are the two questions I want answered. Do any liberal take all of this seriously? And if so, how?
