Obama and the Democrats are planning to "stimulate" the economy to the tune of about $850 billion dollars. It is their theory that that amount will create 3 million jobs. Now, even assuming that their numbers are accurate, doesn't that mean that they will be spending over $280,000 per job created? Why not just send $100,000 to each potential employee to tide them over until the economy recovers and then pocket the $550 billion savings? Of course, telling the potential employees from those who won't be employed is hard, but even if we sent $50,000 to everyone collecting unemployment we would still be ahead of the game, and so would they.
Then again, this does provide a perfect proof of something I have been saying for a long time. The government is not a tool for creating jobs. Just look at the numbers if you doubt me. Clearly Obama and the Democrats are providing the most optimistic numbers possible and STILL each job costs almost $300,000. If that is not proof of inefficiency, I don't know what is.
