As my regular readers know, I have
many objections to Wikipedia, both in its conception, its methodology and its practice. However, I did not know why it was so objectionable until I saw Jimmy Wales on USA Channel's "character" profile. He complained about traditional encyclopedias being the province of "old white men" and ranted about some sort of leveling. I had previously spoken of the arrogance and elitism of Wikipedia's enforced pseudo-egalitarianism, but had no concrete evidence the founder had a left wing bias. In fact, as
he had dated the kannuck pseudo-Coulter Rachel Marsden, I had assumed he embraced that internet left-libertarian philosophy. But, from his little ex cathedra preaching on television, it appears he does not embrace the confused ecclecticism of the internet, but is much farther to left.
I cannot say I am surprised.
