I know this has become a tradition, but I have to apologize for the lack of posts today and yesterday. Unfortunately my condition (whatever it may be) is flaring up leaving me in quite a bit of pain, which makes writing rather difficult at the moment.
However, I have several interesting ideas, and so I thought I would share with my regular readers what posts to expect in the next few days.
First, I plan to write a short post about the way that team mascots upset some people. From Redskins to Braves, there have been endless protests about, mostly Indian, mascots. What I want to examine is why some other mascots, for example "the Fighting Irish" or "Vikings" don't seem to draw the same ire, and what that tells us.
Second, I want to look at the mechanics of unemployment, mostly from the perspective that we can have as much unemployment as we choose to purchase.
Third, I hope to finally write two posts I have been promising. Those being my "Bad Economics" post defining inflation and my essay on the real environmental impact of "green" technologies. I have promised those for quite a while, and hope to finally get around to completing, as well as the other three remaining "Bad Economics" installments.
As I said, the pain today is making writing difficult, but hopefully it will let up soon and I will be back to my normal pace of writing. Until then, my apologies for the uncharacteristic silence.
